After taking time away from the island to tour with his band, Satori has returned with fresh details about Maktub and the live acts joining him there. Taking over Thursday nights at HEART Ibiza from 6 June to 26 September, here's what the artisan performer has in store.
Attempting to promote the status of electronic music live performers, the party will incorporate a continuative visual element. This will not only link the narrative of the night but also string the entire 17-week residency cohesively together.
While Satori plays a new, improvised show every week, he has also curated a tasteful roster of fellow live musicians. Masterful specialist Matthew Dear (AKA Audion), Diynamic-affiliate Stimming and old Acid Sunday favourite Acid Pauli will all guest.
Following a huge album launch at HEART last summer, Be Svendsen returns to be a part of the residency. Russian talent Geju and collective Oceanvs Orientalis are other names appearing over the course of the season.
Bago, Binkbeats, Black Motion, El Mundo, Geni, Isi Audi, Some Chemistry and Sora comprise the rest of the line-up. Satori has already expressed his desire to expand on audience expectations of electronic music.
“Ibiza is known for being the epicentre of electronic music, but currently, everything is based on a DJ culture. With this concept, we want to break away from this ... and expand the artistic/musical concept of the island.”
In an exciting development, Satori will sporadically invite collaborators the Band From Space to play alongside him, as well as solo sets. Expect unannounced cameos from other musicians and vocalists during the season.
With its glamorous harbour-side location, high-ceilings, stage and theatrical make-up, HEART Ibiza is the perfect canvas for Satori's widescreen vision of what a party could be. Here's to many cinematic nights this summer.
Curious? The only way to truly see the world through Satori's eyes is to attend these shows. You can find tickets for all dates below.
