Things to do this month on Ibiza - September 2018

Our choice picks for the month.

We won't say it. We definitely won't say it. Okay, we'll say it. How is it September, already?

August has been and gone and now this time of the year is when things start to get a little cooler, more relaxed and a little less busy, but still packed full of energy.

The summer season has reached a peak, yet there are still so many things to do. We'll prove it to you with these cool events you can do this month - and this is only nine of them!

Whether you're a clubber, a reader, a beer fanatic, an art aficionado or all of the above, September has arrived and it has something for everyone.

straight from new orleans

5 - 9 September

Bless your ears with sounds born by the Mississippi River at the Ibiza Jazz Festival 2018 in the walled citadel of Dalt Villa in Ibiza Town. Across five dates and starting with a concert by the Ibiza City Big Band, there is a selection of international musicians and the finest hands in Jazz, all jiving their way to the island for a unique few days of music goodness.

live art

8 - 10 September

All things art take over Aiyanna Ibiza early this month for a showcase of culture, fashion and music. Urban In Ibiza is celebrating its 10-year anniversary on the island this season and the Aiyanna Ibiza take-over is hot on the calendars of any art lover on the island. A stunning place complemented by breathtaking masterpieces and live creations. It all ends at the gorgeous Boutique Hostal Salinas on 15 September with a potentially explosive party called Swan Song, with DJs David Phillips, YOUNGIE, Ryan O'Gorman and more.

another stellar season for resistance

11 September

One of the biggest events of the season for electronic music fans: RESISTANCE shuts down its spectacular nine-week residency at Privilege. Ibiza legend Carl Cox heads the bill and if that isn't enough - and for many it might be - how about Sasha, John Digweed, Maceo Plex, Skream...to name but a few superstar DJs also at the helm!

literature can be cool

11 - 12 September

The famous Ibiza hotel built on hedonism and defined by its intimate parties is doing something a little different from 11-12 September. Pikes Ibiza hosts a unique two-day literary festival where Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh, screenwriter John Niven and author of The White Island Stephen Armstrong will give an insight into their world. Expect absorbing conversation and captivating stories.

dancing for a cause

13 September

Ibiza's clubbing scene comes together for a worthwhile cause during the middle of the month with Wild. The Night League & Music Against Cruelty unite at Ushuaïa to throw one of the biggest parties of the season. Black Coffee, Adam Beyer and many, many more (including an unannounced special guest!) soundtrack the Playa D'en Bossa party. All DJs are contributing their performances for free, with all the event proceeds going towards conservation efforts in Africa. Clubbing with a conscience.

searching for gold deliciousness

14 - 16 September

Now we're talking. Craft beer is all the rage at the moment, so get down to the Ibiza Convention Centre for the 2018 Ibiza Beer Festival where you will find 200 of them from all over the world. With delicious food on hand to help you maintain your quest for the perfect golden drink plus music and performance, what's stopping you? My mouth's already watering.

making a difference around the world with music

23 September

This is one for the whole family. Playing For Change Day at Cala Llonga returns this summer for a day of fun and fundraising. The beautiful beach will be the setting for live music, food and drink stalls, a hippy market and loads of children's entertainment. The worldwide movement supports free music education programmes for communities in disadvantaged countries.

wrapping up abode and do not sleep's season

27 September

ABODE and Do Not Sleep's move to Amnesia this season on Ibiza was met with interest and excitement. It's fair to say this lot know how to throw a party. Both promoters end their clubbing residency with a line-up featuring some of the finest names in house and techno like Skream, Steve Lawler, Secondcity and more.

red and ready to party

30 September

Get your friends together and paint Nikki Beach Beach Club red at its world-famous closing party where it's all things red, red and red. Did we mention red? Get on your best (obviously red) outfit and head on to this season must, where in true Nikki Beach style, there'll be fine champagne and a sumptuous brunch whilst the entertainment heats up poolside. It's sizzling up to be one of the hottest daytime parties of the season.
