Zoo Evolution set to re-open with five special dates

The Zoo Project's new daytime addition to 2017 extends the season to mid-October.

After taking a short hiatus, Zoo Evolution is set to re-open with five special dates extending the summer season right through to Tuesday 17 October.

In what was The Zoo Project's new addition to the season calendar this summer, Benimussa Park has been transformed into an escapist zone for fervent hedonists not once, but twice weekly throughout 2017.

With refreshed vigour, the first of those five Tuesday instalments takes us back to the iconic abandoned zoo on 12 September. While the line-ups are usually kept top secret, we can reveal that the artists soon to be peppering your senses are Italian resident Federico Grazzini and Moroccan bastion of goodness Kali G in the Living Room with Fiesta & Bullshit hosting. Meanwhile, the Treehouse will be presented by Vitalik Recordings with label head, Ryan O' Gorman, alongside Circoloco favourite Clive Henry and music obsessive Luca Cazal. And if you're after a little spiritual stimulation, do not miss the Mandala Garden for ecstatic dance with Visionasi.

The unhinged roaming continues on Tuesday 26 September with Carl Craig's concept party, Detroit Love, joining forces with Jacky's event series, Jacky & Friends. Craig's takeover is billed for the Treehouse, with guests Bambounou and Ryan O'Gorman, and Jacky will be in charge of the disruption at the Seal Pit. In the Living Room we have Clara Da Costa's label Jack's House with Swedish producer Adeline and Zoo Project regular Karina. For those looking to feed their souls, the Mandala Garden brings in Mayinca for ecstatic dance.

Rolling into October, on Tuesday 3 we have Thailand-born, Berlin-based Nakadia at the Treehouse with fellow Zoo Project selectors Clara Da Costa and Adeline. Meanwhile, mixing duties in the Living Room belong to island residents Davina Moss and Milou, and you'll be lured to the Rabbit Hole with Parisian Jean Cedric. The ecstatic dance action continues this week with Ona Ray.

Tuesday 10 October welcomes mixing marvel Yaya, Ryan O'Gorman and a special guest to the Treehouse, and the Seal Pit ushers in Outcross Records founder Miguel Campbell and the return of Federico Grazzini and Milou. In for a tussle in the Living Room we have underground crew Real Gang going in with UK-based independent record label and creative collective Extrano. Salta Dios is set to lead the way in ecstatic dance in the Mandala Garden.

And lastly, to see us off on a rocker we have the Summer Closing Extravaganza on Tuesday 17 October. Any fiesta slapped with the word ‘extravaganza' has us parking right up at the front door, and those looking to entice us inside are French DJ Stephane Ghenacia and British beat-pusher Thomas Roland in the Treehouse. The Seal Pit presents Emanuele Inga's Ibiza-born label, Knostra, alongside Mate Recordings, a British-Finnish record label founded in Manchester. Federico Grazzini and Jean Cedric return to tear down the Living Room, and the Mandala Garden's ecstatic dance series is set for one final mind-altering blowout.

We all know we're left with major Ibiza blues once the superclubs have closed their doors for the season, and Zoo Evolution is giving us good cause to stick around the White Isle.
