Summer is coming to an end but that does not mean that the summer anthems are done coming our way. The folks over at Music For Freaks may have another one of the essential tunes of the summer on their hands and they are celebrating its release in dazzling fashion.
The release – a remix package to legendary Queen drummer Roger Taylor's Two Sharp Pencils (Get Bad) – features two unquestionably groovy remixes. The first comes from the combined effort of house sweetheart Anna Wall and Corbi, one part of the Ibizan fan favourite Melon Bomb collective. The second remix comes to us courtesy of Chicago-bred disco king Jamie 3:26. The remix package is scheduled to be released this Friday 15 September.
Of course, a release of this proportion needs a celebration of equal scale so it is fitting that the release party take place at the exorbitant Pikes on Thursday 21 September. Music For Freaks is no stranger to the Ibiza party land, as Pikes has been home to the label's residency the past two years.
The event will see Freddie Mercury's storied suite transformed into a dark and lustful lair of sin. As it has been fitted with a brand new sound system earlier this season, the suite is set to be the heart of the party. Pikes already has a penchant for hosting eclectic DJs and themes at its garishly wild and ludicrous parties so you can expect this one to follow suit.
Tunes for the evening will be curated by the Freaks, a.k.a Luke Solomon and Justin Harris, Music For Freaks regular DJ Callum, and of course the producers of the first remix on the package, Anna Wall and Corbi. If you are looking for an outrageous night out with the smashing house tunes, then you will not want to miss this event.
