Theatre in the streets in the Barruguet Festival

Santa Eulalia is host to a four-day event of street theatre, clowns and circuses next month.

Live street performances come back to Santa Eulalia with the Barruguet Festival presenting a mix of theatre, circuses and clowns as well as music and dance from 25-28 May.

Now in its fourth year, the festival is great for the whole family with 17 different performance companies taking part including the Balearic youth theatre.

Tickets can be purchased from the Teatro España box office from 10 May and are priced between €4-8 with some of the shows being free to attend.

On the Saturday of the event, you will find a play space and circus workshop on the pedestrian walkway below Plaza España , called Circolar.

Members of the public can take part in things like juggling and acrobatics and there is an inclusive workshop wth special activities for disabled people, with the idea of making these live shows interactive and available to everyone.

Both Saturday and Sunday will see the most action on the streets and inside with all kinds of shows at Teatro España, the Palacio de Congresos and the town exhibition hall. Expect, puppet shows, humour, theatre and storytelling morning and afternoon.

The festival starts on Thursday 25th with a music workshop aimed at children aged up to three years old and you can expect a lot of shows to bring out the child in all of us.

Come and join in the drama next month in Santa Eulalia!
