Exploring the beauty of Ibiza by train in 2017

Ibiza Tourist Train is back from the month of May taking you to stunning island locations.

Ibiza doesn't have any railways but it does have trains! A trip on the Ibiza Tourist Train, a road train, is a fun way to discover the wonderful pine-scented countryside, the stunning coastline and tiny secluded coves.

7 May is the date when the trains are back on track for 2017, with a number of popular excursions around the island offering an easy way to see the beauty of Ibiza.

The morning tours tend to be focused on exploring the dramatic coastal scenery with lots of beach visits for swimming and enjoying lazy coffee breaks in the sunshine. The afternoon trips have a more cultural feel, going off the beaten track into the heart of the beautiful Ibizan countryside.

A trip from Es Caná incorporates a visit to a typical Ibizan finca, or farmhouse, which dates back to the 17th Century. It also stops at the village of San Carlos with its 18th century church and popular hippie hangout, Bar Anita.

Excursions from the village of San Miguel include an option to visit the caves of Can Marça with their eerie lighting illuminating the ancient formations and waterfalls. There is also the opportunity to visit the pretty village of San Juan with its typical Ibizan church and laid back bohemian vibe.

The trains depart from five locations across the island and offer experiences for every traveller. Secret fishermen's coves, sandy beaches, bustling hippie markets selling a huge range of goodies, gorgeous villages and traditional churches are all to be found on the range of itineraries.

Whichever you choose, you can guarantee that you will experience Ibiza's lush countryside, breathtaking clifftop views and an unmissable chance to cool off in the crystal clear waters that surround the island.

So hop aboard the Ibiza Tourist Train and enjoy a fun-filled island tour with a difference. Don't forget the camera either, you are going to want to remember these sights for ever.
