This Sunday 25 September, you can party whilst doing some good for the island in a special charity edition of Children of the 80's at the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza. This Sunday's event features live performances by British pop duo Bananarama, famous for Top 10 chart hits like Venus and Love in the First Degree.
Children of the 80's is the Ibiza event that transports you back to that pop-filled decade of hits with a line-up this year that has included top 80's performers the Venga Boys, 2Unlimited, and Haddaway. It's the time to don your shoulder pads, make your hair impossibly large and dig out your velour for this unashamed celebration of the best of 80's music.
The aim of the event, organised in support of local organisation Food for Ibiza, is to collect five tonnes of food to help feed disadvantaged people on the island add raise a target figure of €10,000. In return for waiving the entrance fee, guests are invited to bring a minimum of two kilos of non-perishable food. To encourage people to bring more, there's a contest organised by the Abel Matutes Foundation rewarding the winner who brings the most food with an overnight stay for two at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, with breakfast in October next month.
Food for Ibiza began in 2014 to support local families who are increasingly in need of support during the Ibiza winter, with those requiring help growing each year. The organisation supports families mainly in and around San Antonio and San José and also in Ibiza Town and Santa Eulalia. Each week recipients get a delivery of fruit, vegetables, meat as well as non-perishable food products.
This Sunday's event promises to be a super-fun 80's blast from the past that helps support the locals of Ibiza. Plus, with only a few Children of the 80's event to come till the end of the season, it's time to get on board.
