Charity event at Can Horse

Free event this Sunday.

This Sunday 31 January, make your way for a great free event at Can Horse in San Lorenzo. It's open to all comers and starts at 1pm and goes on well into the early evening. There promises to be a big fun family-friendly party with live music and food to raise money and highlight the great work the rescue centre does for the noble beautiful animal that is the horse.

Whilst the event is free to attend, if you would like to make a donation to support the work then please feel free as every little really does help. Can Horse runs events throughout the year to support the horses they take in which have often suffered from abuse or neglect.

Can Horse Ibiza is a non-profit organisation dedicated to collect, care for and recover these horses and relies solely on donation. Like many charities on the island, they don't receive a Government subsidy so any help that you can give them will be gratefully received. The association recently took on a new team of volunteers too and you will be able to meet all team members and learn about how they help rehabilitee the horses.

To get to the centre, head to km 14.5, just off the San Juan road parallel to fellow animal centre, Can Dog. The centre also runs regular equestrian courses and special horse-riding trips as well as looking after abandoned horses, so you'll be able to learn about this too. You can also get involved in some very rewarding work by volunteering if you want to support the centre even more.

It's a great way to dive into winter island life even if you are only here for a short while, plus you have the satisfaction of doing something good for the world around us. Don't say neigh.
