Fun at sea - Fiesta del Mar festival 2015

A range of aquatic adventures.

The third edition of the Fiesta del Mar comes to the west of the island this Saturday 3 October. The event, organised by Sant Antoni and Sant Josep Estació Náutica, promotes different ways of exploring the island and this Saturday promises a raft of aquatic fun in and around San Antonio Bay. There will be everything from water sports activities to three very different boat excursions.

The first part of the event runs from 10am to 2pm with a diverse range of nautical entertainments supported by various companies in the area, including Take Off Ibiza, Twister Jet Ibiza and Ibiza Wakeboard. For €10 per person, you can choose from Stand Up Paddles; Seabob aquatic scooters, allowing you bob down and see the marine life underneath; jet boats, so you can whizz round and see sea life from up above; kayaks for a slow smooth trip around the bay and speed boats for the thrill seeker. There's even the chance to try out the wave machine at Surf House Ibiza.

There's some lower priced fun for just €5 where people can play around in the sea with inflatable bananas, waterbeds and the ‘sofa loco' or mad settee. Many of these inflatables take several people too.

Boat excursions run through the day and all cost €10. Between midday and 2pm there's a boat excursion to the Cap Blanc Aquarium, where you can stop off to enjoy this famous attraction. There's a bar and café there too, so you can have a drink whilst the kids go and explore the aquarium down below in the rock. Then at 3pm-6pm there's a three-hour journey to the mystical Es Vedrà, taking in the picturesque coast on the way. Finally at 6pm, there's a two-hour sunset cruise providing a magical way to see the island from the sea, watching the sun go down and day turn to night.

The Sant Antoni and Sant Josep Estació Nàutica is a non-profit organisation created to promote and preserve marine-quality sports and tourism on Ibiza. It is a nautical symbol of excellence both nationally and internationally and is part of a network of 20 marinas spread around the Spanish coast.

The day look set to be lots of fun for anyone who wants to go along from families to groups to couples. See you there on a big banana.

Tickets can be purchased at the Estació Nàutica booth at Orange Corner in front of Arenal beach in San Antonio. Open daily from 9:30am to 8pm.
