Review: Urban in Ibiza returns

A magical night of art, fashion and music at Atzaro.

Ibiza is the island of creativity, a magnet for talented artists, musicians and innovative fashion designers, it provides the perfect backdrop for Urban In Ibiza. In it's seventh year, the unique event is always the hottest ticket in the island's events calendar. A colourful festival celebrating a fusion of art, music and fashion, with over 50 artists one off works on display, a fashion packed catwalk show and an eclectic mix of live music, all played out in the stunning gardens of Agroturismo Atzaro.

I arrived as the sun was setting, casting a magical glow over the lush garden surroundings, with hip hop beats from the The Scribes filling the air. The relaxed atmosphere washed over me as I ventured further into the stunning venue, heaving with a mixture of families and friends all soaking up the creative surroundings and feasting on street style food, including gormet burgers and health-fueled salads. Ibiza Sonica Radio were on hand to broadcast the musical delights across the island. An artist taking part in a live art demonstration was mesmerising, creating intriguing giant canvases, while another created some one off fashions by painting designs on a visitors dress.

As darkness crept in the fashion show began, showcasing designs from Religion, swimwear from Su Marie, Jayne Marie, George Cox and the debut collection from Tailored Anarchy- an art inspired collection from Urban In Ibiza itself.

Feeling fashion full from the stunning show I checked out the specially curated art collection in the gallery. This year the theme revolves around the number 7 and it's mythical meanings, an array of talented artists have interpreted the idea, resulting in a diverse collection of one off art works. A unique collection from the likes of Banksy, Inkie, Hush, Fin Dac, Hush, Kimberley Thomas, Nick Walker, and Pam Glew among many others, that you're unlikely to see anywhere else in the world. A rare opportunity to capture this diverse collection of artists all housed under one roof and the chance to snap up a one off creation.

Soulful house tunes carried the event through late into the night creating a fun party vibe, finishing off the night in style.

Roll on next year!
