The first artist confirmed to appear at the annual Ibiza Jazz Festival – 2010 is the 22nd – is the Vargas Blues Band. They'll take to the stage on the Santa Lucia Battlements on 27th August, the third night of the four day festival which runs from 25th to 28th.
Javier Vargas grew up in Spain, Argentina, Venezuela and the States and the influences of Flamenco and Latin rhythms on his blues are obvious. Interestingly, for rock fans, Vargas' band contains Devon Allman, the son of Gregg from the Allman Brothers Band.
The Vargas band have performed many times in Ibiza in the past and have also played top notch festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Pop Korn Festival in Germany.
