Things to look forward to on Ibiza in summer 2025

Ibiza is about to enter a momentous year in its history. Let's look at what's in store.

A major reset for Ibiza nightlife.

The Ibiza party scene is in for its biggest shakeup for a long while with the imminent opening of the world's first ‘hyper-club', the enigmatically named [UNVRS]. Built on the site previously occupied by the legendary Ku and Privilege nightclubs, everyone will be clamouring to visit the entirely refreshed and state-of-the-art venue.

With the capacity to host the biggest names in dance music, [UNVRS], operated by The Night League, has already secured a stellar roster of acts to headline each night of the week, including the return of a massive Ibiza favourite, Carl Cox, on Sunday evenings.

Even in its previous iterations, the venue itself was rarely busy on more than one or two nights a week. Now, with a guaranteed lineup of A-list talent across the whole week, the opening of [UNVRS] will create a new centre of gravity for the island's nightlife and have seismic consequences elsewhere in Ibiza clubland - leading to the most intriguing reshuffle that the scene has experienced this decade.

Gaps have emerged in the schedules of Amnesia, Hï Ibiza and Pacha that will need to be filled, meaning there are new opportunities for fresh talent to make their mark on the biggest stages. Who is getting promoted or making the big club moves will all become clear in good time. Our magazine pages will be full of all the exciting updates.

Another positive is that it might also free up a little space on the rest of the island's dancefloors, which have been a little too crowded over recent years, limiting the clubbing experience. Now, there will be no excuses but to put away those phones and make the most of the extra room to move.

Radio 1 Ibiza Weekender's 30th anniversary

For three decades now, the UK's flagship music radio station has set up summer camp on the White Isle. Every year, the Radio 1 Ibiza Weekender mini-festival has grown and taken in almost all the major venues on the island at some point. This year's event, from 1 to 4 August, will be a fitting celebration of this landmark year, with artists and venues to be announced very soon. Watch this space…

Return of live music

After some fallow years brought on by strict noise regulations, there are whispers that Ibiza Rocks is gearing up for the return of live music acts to the renowned hotel. Having been graced by an array of world-class acts over the years, it remains to be seen who will be stepping onto that famous stage in summer 2025 for Ibiza Rocks Presents every Wednesday. We are expecting details to be announced any day, so keep an eye on our magazine for details.

Hospitality upgrades

2025 promises to be a big year for the hospitality industry, too. There will be a range of brand-new hotel openings, as well as refurbishments and rebrandings that will elevate existing offerings to new heights.

Dubai-based hotel group FIVE took over the clifftop Destino Pacha Resort in Cap Martinet as part of their deal to acquire the Pacha Group in 2023 and has promised BIG changes over the coming seasons. This winter at the now renamed Destino Five Ibiza, the bedrooms and food and beverage amenities have been completely upgraded, giving the resort a sophisticated, 5-star feel. Outside, Marco Carola's Music On parties will continue their open-air residency, and we have a feeling there may be a few more surprises to come.

Two of Playa d'en Bossa's most iconic landmarks, the Ushuaia Tower and the Hard Rock Hotel, operated by the Palladium Group, are undergoing a complete rebranding. The Ushuaia Tower will be transformed into The Unexpected Tower, which will host a European outpost for the celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen project. Full details regarding the future of the Hard Rock Hotel will be disclosed at Spain's annual tourism trade fair, FITUR, this month. What is certain is that they will both receive the full Palladium treatment, enhancing the already high standards the hotels provide.

Visitors to O Beach in San Antonio over the past year will have witnessed the emergence of a new hotel across the road from the entrance to the popular daytime club. The construction of Bonito by O Beach Hotel is nearing its completion, and a June opening date is provisionally slated. Bookings are already being taken for this brand-new, luxurious venue on the Bonito website, and the unique style rooms and suites of the artistic renders reveal that guests are in for a bit of a treat.

Perhaps not major news for all holidaymakers, but members of the exclusive Soho House chain of clubs and hotels will be delighted to hear about their new residence on the island. Taking over charge of the charming Cas Gasi agrotourism hotel, the Soho House team are sure to add their own touches to this already beautiful escape to make the experience as magical as possible for their discerning clientele.

We will bring you news of any more exciting news as it breaks. Meanwhile, head over to our forums to continue the conversation about what you're most excited about this year. We look forward to seeing you on the island this summer!
