Local politicians reckon that veteran actor Michael Douglas fluffed his lines at the Berlin travel trade fair last week.
Douglas, who has a house in Mallorca and has agreed to promote the Balearic Islands in various travel trade events, spoke for most of the time about Mallorca and devoted only a couple of minutes to Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera.
Even worse was his 'joke' that his son liked Ibiza because he wanted to be a DJ, perpetuating the image of Ibiza as an all night party island.
This at a time when the whole tourist industry, whilst recognising the importance of the club scene, is trying to re-promote all the other attractions of the island which bring people here from Spring to Autumn and not just in a 10 week clubbing season.
