SAS the Scandinavian airline who own Spanair, is studying the possibility of converting it into a 'budget' airline to compete with the likes of Go and BMI Baby. These low cost airlines provide extremely economical services from Britain to Ibiza and have successfully opened up the 'long weekend' market to the island for people who wish to visit for a few days only. At present exact details are not known but lets hope that Spanair can give people an economical alternative to get from mainland Spain to Ibiza.
