Where: San José, Ibiza
San José is known for organising a wide programme of activities to celebrate its patron saint day on 19 March (coinciding with Father's Day in Spain). In the weeks before and after, you can enjoy sports activities, cinema, theatre, walks, games for children, gastronomy, music, and much more.
Among the highlighted events, we recommend:
Saturday 15 March:
- 09:00 Sant Josep Express (orienteering race)
- 17:00, “Miniflower” party for the little ones with a musical show and street entertainment.
- 20:30, Flower Power party with live performances by Willy and the Poor Boys and DJs Javi Box, Joan Ribas and Ric Jazzbo
Sunday 16 March: At 10:00, Nordic walk, departure from Cala Bassa beach to the beaches of Cala Comte.
Wednesday 19 March: San José's big day.
- 11:00, solemn mass, traditional dances, giant games for children, family entertainment
- 13.30, Vermut musical. Live music in different venues in San José - Es Galliner (Soul DoctorAcoustic Duo), Can Bernat Vinya (Dj Rickzor), Can Riku (Swinging Tonic), Granola Cafetería (Half Up), Centre de Majors de Sant Josep (DJ Cardona), Can Limo (DJ Luca Averna & Friends).
- 20:00: Concerts performed by Morning Drivers y Miki Núñez.
Friday 21 March: Correbars, a day of live music and DJs in the town bars, with performances by numerous local bands and artists. Can Riku (Swingin Tonic), Es Galliner (Uncle Sal), 60° (5er610 Music Selector), Centre de Majors de Sant Josep (DJ Carmona), Granola Cafetería (Half Up), La Espiga (The Metrallas), Can Bernat Vinya (DJ Rickzor), On the road (The 3 Wise Monkeys).
Saturday 22 March: From 14:00, the second competition of “Frita de polp” contest (Ibizan recipe with fried octopus) in the streets of the town.
Sunday 23 March: At 10:00 Trail Race sa Talaia, starting from the town hall, the classic mountain race of San José.
Saturday 29 March: From 10:00 Giant games for the whole family at Cala Vadella beach.
