The end of August is the time of year when the locals hit the streets to celebrate "Sant Bartomeu" (Saint Bartholomew), the local patron Saint of San Antonio.
Here are some of the highlights of the week's festivities for your diary:
-Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August from 10:00: volleyball tournament.
-Sunday 18 August from 19:00: Local fiestas with children activities, craft market, traditional dancing, acrobatic performances, public sardines BBQ and live music with swing and rock & roll band Bluesmafia and Es Saligardos.
-Friday 23 and Saturday 24 August from 20:30: Sunset Swing Festival, rock'n'roll, rockabilly and lindy hop with free lessons and dancing, on the promenade of s'Arenal beach, at Eddie's Diner.
Saturday 24 August, all day: THE big day of San Antonio, with activities for children in the morning, traditional dances in the afternoon, an 80's party at night and culminating in a giant fireworks specatacle at midnight.
-Sunday 25 August at 10:30: "La Regata Loca" a crazy nautical competition in which the only requirement is to dress up in an outrageous costume and sail on a homemade boat without a motor.
