The Department of Social Welfare of the Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Hall, through the Municipal Plan on Drugs (PMD), has organised various activities to commemorate World Day without Alcohol, celebrated on November 15.
The program starts on Saturday, November 11, with spinning classes open to the public from 10:00 to 13:00 at Passeig de ses Fonts. The activity aims to raise awareness about the risks of alcohol consumption and encourage healthy lifestyles among citizens.
On Monday, November 13, a conference will be held to raise awareness about alcohol abuse and road safety, aimed at first-year high school students at Quartó de Portmany and Sa Serra institutes. The talk will be given by the Fundtrafic Foundation and will be delivered by a road accident victim.
In addition, awareness-raising activities will be carried out using simulation glasses for alcohol and other drug consumption, as well as a wheelchair and walking stick circuit to raise awareness of the architectural barriers that people with disabilities face in their daily lives.
On Wednesday, November 15, an information table will be set up in front of the Sant Antoni Town Hall, in collaboration with Alcoholics Anonymous, where different activities will take place from 10:00 to 13:00.
Finally, on Friday, November 17, the Sant Antoni Espai Jove will host a Mócktails workshop (non-alcoholic cocktails) from 17:00 onwards, providing young people between 12 and 15 years old, who are users of 'Fridays Joves', with healthy and attractive alternatives to alcohol consumption.
