Flower Power San Antonio hits the streets

Winter glow of peace and love.

This Saturday 9 January, the 12th edition of San Antonio's Flower Power Festival hits the streets once more. Expect music, a riot of colour and flowers and balloons bedecking the streets. It's the first time that the festival, with its message of peace, love and harmony returns for 2016.

You'll see street musicians, a craft bazaar and people dressed up in wigs, big sunglasses and flared trousers and of course more flowers in their hair dancing to some of the best tracks of the 60s and 70s.

From 6pm the Gran Fiesta Flower Child will be the first event, taking place in the marquee on Passeig de ses Fonts. Then at 7.30pm there's the Festival for Young Hippies for those aged 12-21 in the Espai Jove youth centre.

The official start for the Flower Power event is at 10pm, when you'll start to dance amidst the see psychedelic décor. There'll be amped-up music in the marquee from 11pm and then the night really begins as everyone spills into the streets around to get the love-filled festival rocking.

DJ Javi Box Pharma is in charge of the grand selection of golden-age hippie tracks to get you dancing and warm you up in the cooler month of January.

For one of the most authentic and fun winter parties, the Flower Power Festival is hard to beat and the best way to keep you chilled and heated too.
