The ecological centre Casita Verde sits within an old converted Ibizan farm, which with the help of volunteers over the past three decades, has been transformed into a showcase for sustainable living and alternative energy.
Local plants and herbs like Aloe Vera and carob have been made much use of and are used in products that are made at the centre itself.
The centre has gardens, water collection systems, solar energy installations, eco-toilets and showers. There's a bottle house, made from reclaimed materials using bottles in the walls; an eco-wagon, which uses an old traveller's caravan and several yurts.
