Summer buzz in Ibiza continues to spread as more and more venues yawn, stretch and emerge from hibernation, all marking the occasion with a nice, raucous party. Last night the scene was at KM5 Opening Party, a classy outdoor venue with rustic sensibilties, isolated about 5 kilometres from the bustle of Ibiza Town - hence the name.
KM5 was clearly the place to be last night, with the line of cars stretching hundreds of metres down the dark road and squeezing room only for the masses inside the mid-sized venue. The dance floor inside was going off to balearic beats, whilst outside patrons mixed and mingled under a mercifully clear night sky (the afternoon had threatened otherwise). The opening party was a bit of a who's who of Ibiza, with many island characters re-connecting with each other and toasting the summer to come. KM5 lounge, restaurant and clothing boutique is now open for business, and well worth a trip to check out the dance floor and cocktail garden of the much-loved Ibiza waterhole.
