BerMuDa - Berlin Music Days 3-6 Nov 2010

Between 3 November 2010 and 6 November 2010, the national and international electronic music scene will flock to Berlin: for BerMuDa, the Berlin Music Days.

After last year's successful launch, BerMuDa, Berlin's new club festival for electronic music, will once again attract clubbers, ravers, musicians, labels and music biz pros from around the world to Berlin. The festival's 2009 debut already saw 30,000 electronic music fans descend on the city to enjoy more than 100 DJs and live acts at the city's best clubs (a. o. Weekend, Watergate, Tresor, Berghain, WMF, Arena Club, RAW, Maria) during the Berlin Music Days.

In 2010, BerMuDa will kick it up a notch with an even more comprehensive programme and line-up. This year, the festival's club nights (BerMuNights, Wednesday to Saturday) will be supplemented by several daytime activities (BerMuDays) scattered all across the city. These varied events will examine and highlight all aspects of the electronic music scene – from distributors' meetings and live PAs to new acts and iconic exhibitions on club photography – and showcase the city's love of electronic music in the best possible (day) light throughout the festival's duration.

With the stunning setting of Tempelhof Airport BerMuDa found the perfect spot and stage for the festival's biggest draws like Sven Väth, Paul Kalkbrenner, Tiefschwarz etc. Offering plenty of space for expansive shows, on 6 November 2010 the festival will culminate in a large-scale event on the airport grounds. A collaboration between BerMuDa and FLY Bermuda, this show will provide a great complement and counterpoint to the varied club line-up.

Known as the capital of electronic music, Berlin has claimed this title for a few years running and its clubs enjoy notoriety around the world. Every week, thousands of music fans flock to Berlin and delve right into the city's extensive nightlife. By mirroring this eclectic mix, BerMuDa sets out to give the public an exciting glimpse of Berlin's rich musical melange, squeezed into four November nights and days, as well as the close-knit community of related clubs, art, fashion and industry behind it. At the same time, BerMuDa will serve as a novel, city-wide “music trade fair” for those involved in the (music) business side of things.

The Berlin Music Days are the brainchild of the Watergate Club crew. Steffen Hack, Niklas Eichstädt and Ulrich Wombacher thought it was high time for an authentic festival of electronic music that would take place where the sound gets its groove – right on the dancefloor of Berlin's clubs.

At the same time, BerMuDa thrives on its open concept. Anyone can become part of BerMuDa one way or another. (Almost) anything is possible: from exhibitions and international label, club and city showcases right down to special screenings and expert workshops. So, get involved and join the fun!
