Everyone in Ibiza’s favourite Bedouin boudoir cum outdoor gin palace Km5 is opening this Friday April 29.
For those who have not had the pleasure, Km5 is a perfect place to meet island faces and new talent alike. There are huge beds and couches to sprawl on, lounges, bars, restaurant tables and even a little dance floor, though they are careful to market themselves as “the perfect escape from the craziness of Ibiza’s pounding club culture” and not competition to it. Dj Sahara will be on (light) deck duties.
Owner Patrick Sox is a gregarious soul who likes nothing more than to demonstrate his Belgian hospitality to the world. His celebrity guests are likely to include Mike and Claire Manumission and French techno fop Laurent Garnier. If you’re driving follow the signs to San Josep and watch for the distance markers on the side of the road - it’s on your left after a sharp right turn. Or take a taxi from Ibiza Town, it’s roughly the same cost as a ride to the airport – 12 euros.
