Bringing a new vibe to San Antonio's West End is Plastik (formerly Plastic Fantastic). Without a doubt it's already a favourite jaunt of mine and workers alike and looks set to start a new trend of bars amongst the naff West End scene.
Part owned by author of "Is Harry on the Boat?" Colin Butts, Plastik serves up a recipe of ideas and ventures making this the new social gathering for the "kool gang" looking for somewhere rather Ibiza Town-esqe to go.
By day Plastik is more than a bar with a record shop, an internet-café, a recording studio and phew…a shop-selling club merchandise and tickets! By night the watering hole, complete with a chilled out back garden, plays host to up and coming DJs playing funky and chunky beats amongst some of San An's more sophisticated folks.
Don't miss Fridays - DJ competition in conjunction with Dave Pearce's Euphoria. And every Saturday - workers party 10pm-late. Without a doubt and said in no finer words, Plastik IS "changing the face of the West End"...
