Wax da Jam is one of the island's standout alternative parties, taking place monthly on Thursday nights at Las Dalias Market, near San Carlos. It's a combination of great music from guest DJs, live acts including Nightmares On Wax the band, delicious food and pop up stalls, making it a unique night that's totally different from anything else on offer on the island.
Thankfully, the party is back for the 2018 season, hosting four special shows for its ninth season. The theme is "Shape the future" - also the title of N.O.W.'s eighth album - and Nightmares on Wax will be playing exclusive live shows and DJ E.A.SE. DJ sets. Andy Wilson, Buckley and Negghead will also be regulars at all four parties.
At the opening party on Thursday 28 June, Nightmares On Wax will be putting on a live show outside and then a DJ set in the Club after midnight. The night will also feature Buckley, KAZIM KAZIM KAZIM and Negghead.
On Thursday 19 July it's the turn of Andy Wilson and Negghead also returns. That night in the club, besides Negghead, we have Nightmares on Wax putting on an exclusive 3-hour DJ set.
Thursday 16 August will feature a live show by Nightmares On Wax, followed by a DJ set in the club. Buckley, KAZIM KAZIM KAZIM and Negghead will also be back.
And finally, for the grand finale on Thursday 6 September for closing party, Andy Wilson and Adam Regan (Leftfoot) will be at it in the garden. In the club, Nightmares on Wax (DJ set) will be going b2b with none other than Simon Dunmore, the legendary man behind Defected and Glitterbox. Negghead and Shovell on percussion will be closing out the Terrace.
Overall, it's an eclectic mix that showcases that inescapable Wax Da Jam magic. If you fancy experiencing a lesser known side to Ibiza, this is the place to do it.
Both indoor and outdoor spaces of Las Dalias will be brought to life by the sound of quality funk, soul and hip hop for a party DJ E.A.S.E. labels as "for the people, by the people." There are two main areas:
The Terrace (outside) - Wax Da Jam live shows plus special guests from 21:00 until midnight.
The Club (inside) - Nightmares On Wax DJ sets plus special guests from 24:00 to 04:00.
After reaching their goal to build a water well in Ugandan village Kasebwela, Wax Da Jam continues its mission of conscious partying. This year they will continue to collaborate with multiple charities, such as Last Night A DJ Saved My Life to help underprivileged children, as well as Oceanic Global to combat plastic pollution.
