The Mix

Talk us through the track selection in the mix?

"The selection of the mix is from anything good that came into my hands in the past 3 months. From classic 4x4 house to more Chicago and Detroit inspired sounds."

Where and how was the mix recorded?

"It was recorded in my home studio at home with 2 mkII and 2 CDJ 1000s."

Where did your musical inspiration come from?

"My first inspiration and music lessons came from my father Alfredo (check out his Spotlight Podcast from 1989) when I was 15 or 16. Soon after I started digging for early house beats by Lil Louis, Franckie Knuckles, some classic 90's house and finally more Detroit and Chicago house."

The Plug

What is keeping you busy at the moment?

"Music! Mainly recording different mixes/podcasts and going to the studio every day."

Tell us about The Heritage Project. How is that going at the moment?

"THP was launched last year for our monthly residency at We Love Sundays at Space on the Premier Etage where we where playing back to back for 5 hours.
This year, THP will be playing again for We Love Sundays but will also hold a smaller residency under the week in a very unique space of the island.
Touring wise we will be in Japan, China and most probably Australia in May. Some gigs are planned in Berlin next Autumn too."

Where will we see you play this coming season, We Love again?

"We Love and some other bits and pieces that will be confirmed in the next weeks :)"

You have a weekend off. What do you do? Where do you go?

"I spend some quality time with my girlfriend!"

What plans are in place for the coming year?

Many, but mainly pushing the The Heritage Project brand and finishing my own production and maybe finally coming out of my dark corner!"

Biography

Jaime's first contact with electronic music started at the age of 14, listening to Balearic beats in the legendary Amnesia Club Ibiza in the late 80's. Experiencing this first hand at a very young age set him on his own path of musical discovery. Like many of his generation, the fresh dance beats of MTV's predecessor; the Music Box, also laid firm foundations for a wider knowledge to be built upon. Music from dance and hip-hop artists like Neneh Cherry, De la Soul or Sagat soon led to digging for early house beats from Lil Louis or Frankie Knuckles.

In 2003 a move for love to London snared him a job at the respected Phonica record store in Soho, local platform where jaime started to be recognized and played for different UK promoters like secretsundaze or back to basics. In 2006 Jaime decided to find his roots and moved back to ibiza where he launched his record store called 92dB and his first electronic label "Indigo Raw" together with his long time friend and partner petter dia aka DJ Mirus.

Since Jaime started playing regularly in Ibiza spots as club Underground, the Secretsundaze beach parties and the legendary we love nights on sundays at Space, Spending his time now dj'ing between Europe and Ibiza, Jaime continues to consistently unravel sets that span earthy transatlantic house music to polished European Electronica. In 2011 Jaime also started his eclectic DJ duo with his father DJ Alfredo as 'The Heritage Project' performing at We Love Sundays at Space.
