Things are getting darker on Mondays at Space, thanks to Onyx, which is set to take over and do the impossible on Monday 27 June, by making even the most idiosyncratic night club that little bit more special. Underground lover Mikaela, with her strict no vocals policy, has devoted time into making this party a futurist statement to remember. Onyx, in association with Mixmag, will gather techno masters together to create a line-up that supports the concept of 'finding light within the darkness' - a notion too deep for just any old DJ. No nonsense techno will go hand in hand with psychedelic visuals, intensifying the atmosphere and transporting us to a world where it's easy to get lost in the moment.
Onyx mother and label owner, Mikaela, will be joined on the terrace by Dave Clarke, otherwise known as The Baron Of Techno, who takes advantage of his insane knowledge of technology and, after appearing in DJ Mag's All Time Techno Top 100 list, is bound to add to the dark, atmospheric energy pulsing through the walls of Space. America's own Lady Starlight and FACT magazine's 'finest techno DJ in the world', Surgeon, will also cosmically collide to perform their live set. Two completely contrasting artists (Starlight is used to touring with Lady Gaga, whereas Surgeon is more comfortable performing Boiler Room sets at Dekmantal) have formed one of the most unique and expressive hook ups to date - the duo's radical magnetism will be hard to ignore.
Rebekah is also on the bill, showing off the skills that got her EPs on Smut Music and Cult Figures, as well as a live performance from Benjamin Damage, who's dipped his toes into genres including jungle and '90s rave before finally settling for Berlin-infused techno. It does't stop there, because Onyx will open the doors to Space's Sunset Terrace French DJ and producer OXIA, who was born into a world of funk and continued his journey venturing into other domains, eventually landing him second and third spot in the Beatport Music Awards. Drumcode favourite Harvey McKay brings his crowd hypnotising skills to Space's booth alongside Ministry Of Sound London resident, DJ Dom Townsend, and Mixmag Allstars.
Onyx is set to add a new dimension to Monday nights, drafting in a range of DJs rarely seen on the White Isle who'll come with the sole purpose of mixing up the established soundscape. The likes of Slam, Gaiser, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Alan Fitzpatrick, Blawan and Josh Wink, among many, many more, are all set to appear over the course of summer, so you can expect some bone-rattling techno at Space every week until 12 September.
