Avicii announces retirement

2016 will be the Swedish DJ's final bow.

Fans of big-tune-dropping super Swede, Avicii, have been wiping away tears this morning amid news that 2016 will be his final year of touring and performing live.

In a post on his Facebook fan page, the DJ /producer (real name Tim Bergling) announced he's planning to take a lengthy break from music, while simultaneously thanking fans and the music industry for allowing him to live out his dreams, stating:

"I will be forever grateful to have experienced and accomplished all that I have with the help of the team around me and my beloved fans."

The good news is that he hasn't completely ruled out a return to music, and of course, you'll be able to catch the undisputed prince of the EDM world one final time at Ushuaïa this summer, where's he's been confirmed to return for a fifth consecutive year.

The opening party will take place on 10th July, continuing every Sunday until 28th August. We'll let you know as soon as tickets go on sale, because one last chance to sing ‘Levels' with the man himself is not to be missed.
