EP review: Weiss 'Our Love'

A simplistically brilliant, inviting and bouncy piece of house.

No time has been wasted this year for Weiss, the seemingly unstoppable underground DJ, as he releases his newest EP 'Our Love', a simplistically brilliant, inviting and bouncy piece of house music. The track is built upon his signature kick/snare combo that has proved to be a great formula remixing the likes of Green Velvet and Tube & Berger; both having been huge successes in 2014, really pushing Weiss as a household name.

Weiss fills that standard 16 bar intro with a chunky kick full of bass partnered with a sharp snare that makes this a guaranteed head bopper from the moment you press play. The elements then continue to progressively build and by two minutes and 13 seconds in you've got your trainers on and you're ready for an all nighter. The addition of the delightfully soft but subtly powerful vocals goes hand in hand with that dense and bouncy bassline, giving the track a relaxingly hypnotising effect. Definitely one that could be kept on repeat all day.

Once again Weiss cleverly creates a dimensional track that has the ability to get the house loving commuter tapping his toes on the way to work early in the morning as well creating those magical dancefloor moments when reality is forgotten and all that's left is the sound and feel of that tantalising four-beat bass line and the delightfully penetrating vocals.
