BOOOM loses ownership lawsuit

The future is unclear for Ibiza's youngest superclub.

It was announced just prior to Halloween that BOOOM, situated in Ibiza Town's Marina, has lost an on-going lawsuit regarding the lease of the venue. There has been no official statement from BOOOM, so details are as yet unclear, but tellingly BOOOM has cancelled its entire winter schedule.

Opening in its new, superclub incarnation only last year, BOOOM has struggled with legal battles since the off, delaying its opening several times. Despite a troubled beginning, BOOOM managed to dig its heels in during second season, running a successful four-night schedule with five additional friday night parties during peak-season from the creators of the infamous Manumission parties.

The lease for the premises is held by Ibiza business mogul Cipriani. For now we must wait to hear whether it will remain as a club, or transform into another business entirely for 2015. The Spotlight clubbing team has seen some cracking nights at BOOOM, so we hope the space will at least continue as a clubbing spot in the future. More details as we have them.
