This Saturday 24th August - and a week later on the 31st - Sankeys Ibiza is to be transformed into a carbon interpretation of Brazil's D-Edge club. Considered one of the best clubs in the world by media, artists and consumers alike the iconic venue - famed for it's fiercely futuristic aesthetic and uncompromising booking schedule - and its creator, DJ and mastermind Renato Ratier will take over the Sankeys space as part of the clubs Carnival Cities series.
Plans for both internal and international expansion have constantly simmered near the surface of owner Ratiers' agenda. Under the banner 'Black Belt' his teams are bringing the clubs production values and distinct take on underground house and techno to the Ibicenco fray. As Brazil continues to tentatively flex its stirring electronic feelers exposure to one of its industry kingpins should make for an insightful and immersive experience.
The first huge party on August 24th with Renato Ratier, New York House legend Todd Terry and new school tech house duo Waze & Odyssey. Also featuring shall be One Records boss and the powerhouse behind Birmingham party Below aka Adam Shelton, as well as French house master Phonique, Chad Andrew, BONES, Rod Maya and Miss Soulfly.
The second showcase on August 31st will involve Norway's melodic house Finebassen, Desolat's Italian hip house star Pirupa, Music On's Leon, and garage pioneer Todd Edwards amongst others.
