Preview: Flying Circus at Sankeys

Audiofly's eclectic troupe finds its summer home at Sankeys Ibiza.

Now in its sixth year spent trundling along the oddball tracks and less-trodden paths of dance music's underground web, Flying Circus, created by Audiofly pair Luca Saporito and Anthony Middleton, rests its kooky legs on the white isle for a thirteen week residency in David Vincent's celebrated Sankeys.

As a modern contemporary circus draws on all whimsical walks of life to stage its curious celebrations, the Flying Circus shall present a sumptuous variety of live acts, niche musical puppeteers and established names. Combining a host of genres spanning the soft bleating house of Amirali to the dusty tech house of Israel's Gel Abril and the creeping moods of Avatism's live setup, the party is sure to attract an eager tribe of dedicated revelers.

Beginning on the 12th of July through to the 4th of October, noteworthy dates are pleasingly plentiful. The 19th of July sees German extraordinaire Steve Bug bringing his stellar mix of minimal acid grooves to the island. A dedicated disciple of vinyl, imagine the crackling whispers floating through the low dark spaces of Sankeys. Alongside Bug, Crosstown Rebels champion Amirali shall present his celebrated live act. After the crossover success of debut album 'In Time' and singles 'A Beautiful World' and 'Just An Illusion', his signature avant-garde concoction of mysterious electronica, techno and house has garnered this production wizard a legion of devoted followers.

The 2nd of August sees chief ringmasters Audiofly team with Get Physical heads M.A.N.D.Y to present a one-off collaboration, 'M.A.N.F.L.Y.'. The combination of Audiofly's experimental jackin tech with the German's careful ambivalence should make for an exciting game of musical hopscotch. Notoriously bizarre live band dOP shall perform on the 30th of August alongside Martin Buttrich and man of the moment Hot Since 82. dOP, known for their pseudo-erotic lyrics and crowd engaging performances could be considered the modern electronic incarnation of The Sex Pistols. Splitting the industry down the middle, decide for yourself whether their live organs, pen-chance for crowd participation and oddball stories is a medicine you'd like to swallow.

Featuring - amongst others - Luca Bacchetti, Tom Trago, Agoria and Lee Curtiss alongside live performances from SIS, Benoit & Sergio and Mathew Jonson, the Flying Circus invites you to don an open mind and journey into a bursting bazaar of colourful musical exploration. Tickets for all dates are available from Spotlight.
