Le Grand Bazaar: Full Line-Up Revealed

Pete Tong reveals the full season line-up for his bizarre Bazaar at Ushuaïa.

Pete Tong has revealed the full season line-up for his quirky extravaganza 'Le Grand Bazaar'. Breath has been held in anticipation of which colourful direction Tong's hippie commune-come-DJ buffet would take, and it does not disappoint. Beginning with a bang, the opening party on 5th July hosts the Ibiza debut of global entertainer Pharrel Williams, fresh from his featuring roles in Daft Punk's smash 'Get Lucky'. The DJ front sees industry heavyweights NERVO leading the charge. The Australian sister duo made their name writing hits for Kylie Minogue, Ke$ha and David Guetta among others and have captured the heads and hearts of many a raver with a melodic, grooving sound. DC10 resident Tato provides the underground angle.

Le Grand Bazaar is unique in that it shall take place both on the beach and in Ushuaïa. The daytime beach party, running from 2pm until the proper club party kicks off at 6pm, is free and shall features many of the guests before they make the move into the adjoining club. It shall be hosted by Traktor Cookery School - who specialise in gently forcing DJs to put down their headphones and take up a spatula - on alternate Fridays. FACT, the avant-garde collective from Spain, famous for their off-SONAR parties shall host the opposite weeks. Electronic fans, take up your ribs.

Tong has programmed an comprehensive mix of industry classics, island regulars and rising newcomers. The 12th July sees legend Fatboy Slim sharing the stage with actor turned radio DJ Idris Elba: Le Grand Bazaar shall overflow with big personalities and musical diversity. Calvin Harris, Afrojack and Kaskade fit alongside Hot Natured, Paul Kalbrenner and Negru, as the bizarre bazaar flits from garage to techno, EDM to underground house.

Island masters Luciano and Carl Cox shall both feature alongside Tong, who plays every date. The 2nd August is reserved for a very special guest to play the Beach area so we recommend keeping an ear to the ground. August 23rd sees Miguel Campbell running the beach kitchen whilst the aforementioned Luciano and Pete wrestle on the Ushuaïa stage. Tong shall also broadcast a live radio show to the world, from the Beach, each week. Listen in for the bizarre at the Bazaar.

With artwork provided by celebrated British artist Damien Hirst, a vintage fair selling vintage jewelry and 'objet d'art' and DJ fried cuisine on the beach; Tong's project is refreshingly original, and fun. Running from 5th July to 30th August. Tickets available for all dates from Spotlight.
