Ushuaïa have embarked upon a new Ibizan journey this season, with a re-jigged programme of parties and lineups and a new additional hotel 10m to the right of the current home of the Ushuaïa parties - Ushuaïa Towers. Boasting a great new poolside party venue and an exclusive rooftop terrace coupled with insane views across Playa d'en Bossa and beyond, Ushuaïa and 'big things' are words we'll be using together quite a lot of the course of the season.
In our interview with Ushuaïa's creative mastermind, Yann Pissenem, before the season started, we discovered that they wanted to "give something back to the island and provide a party for the locals." This gift was the Ants parties. Workers will get wrist bands for free entry over the course of the summer, with the vibe taken back to the old school Ushuaïa with the parties pretty much on the beach and the DJ playing out of the the small DJ booth next to the paddling pool at the back of the venue.
A great selection of artists are involved with the parties, which run from Saturday 1st June until the closing on the 28th September, that is 18 parties, if you play your cards right. We have the first nine weeks of lineups announced already, which you can check out on the Ants promoter page, or below. Highlights include Deetron, Reboot, Andrea Oliva and Maya Jane Coles, just to name a few.
You may have seen the Ants colony/promo team roaming around the island, dressed in black skin tight lycra body suits and acting all strange, if you haven't you can check out the videos here, and below. Ants will be a full-on daytime rave, from midday to midnight, with tickets available from Ibiza Spotlight for only 30 euros.
First of all I love playing in Ibiza in general and especially Ushuaia. More specifically, we have a wicked bunch of residents and regulars like Andrea Oliva, Reboot, Los Suruba and Nic Fanciulli to name a few. Can't wait to play and party with everyone. It's the whole vibe of the island (Ibiza) actually. It's the people, and the fact that you can party hard, but also kick back and enjoy the beautiful beaches and great food, that made me come back over the years. That much so, that I even moved here for the whole summer! - Onno
So many DJ friends of mine are playing for Ants as well and I am looking forward to sharing the stage with them, doing spontaneous b2b sessions and giving the crowd a great time. Beside my residency for Ants, Luciano & Friends festival edition and Vagabundos we are working on some other special gigs to showcase the labels I'm working with. The season is about to start and we will definitely have some surprises coming up! - Andrea Oliva
