Ibiza's Most Popular Buses

Nearly 5 million passengers used public transport last year. With the bright yellow-red busses they went to beaches, clubs, villages in the country and the main towns and resorts at all hours of the day and night.

The figures on bus transport for 2011 have just been released and unsurprisingly show that travel on the routes between the big resorts and Ibiza town was the most numerous in terms of passengers.

a bus in ibizaThe top 3 routes were:-
San Antonio – Ibiza with 921,660 passengers
Playa den Bossa – Ibiza with 683,189 passengers
Santa Eulalia – Ibiza with 626,029 passengers
and not far behind, the 4th route was the airport to Ibiza with 573,917 passengers.

In total 4,774,489 journeys were made on the island's buses, a 12.6% increase on 2010. In general, Ibiza is well served by bus routes which do well to transport so many people about in the height of the season at fairly reasonable prices. The only times the system seems to fail is when it rains and everybody wants to go to Ibiza town at the same time, or when everybody on Las Salinas beach wants to get the last bus back.
