Ibiza Music: Live in the Bay

Saturday afternoons in San Antonio bay are set to liven up over the next few weeks.

Saturday afternoons in San Antonio bay are set to liven up over the next few weeks when a series of free concerts by local bands takes place every week. Called 'Live in the Bay,' they'll be held at the Sa Punta des Moli (windmill) amphitheatre every week at 16.00 and will last around two and a half hours. There will of course be a bar with refreshments on hand if anyone gets hungry or thirsty during the gig!

It's a great idea – promoted by Chris Langley and San Antonio council – and really does keep the town at the top of the tree in Ibiza as far as out of season activities and entertainment is concerned.

The running order of the concerts is
March
17 Flecha Negra
24 Putumayo
31 Flame

April
7 Rolling Soul (video)
14 D'Brois
21 Señor Búho

May
12 The Holics

with the other dates TBC, and plans are already afoot to extend the concerts throughout the summer season but with a later start when the weather gets too hot.

If anyone is planning to take advantage of the direct flights from Britain which start in late March then San Antonio is the place to be at Easter. Not only is the 'MTB Tour' and Ruta de la Sal based there, but also, as revealed on our Twitter stream, there will be a pirate festival and a gastronomy event also!
