Party, party, party. I don't mean the club scene (although there's been some crackers this week, see below) – I mean the private party at your villa. That special 40th birthday or perhaps it's a Baby Shower or even a 25th Wedding Anniversary. Ibiza is ready to wow you from every direction and that is what this week has been all about.
However, just before I encourage you to drool over the services available on Ibiza to ensure you throw the BEST party imaginable, here are some gorgeous places from which to enjoy Ibiza.
Apartments of the Week
We don't just check out and recommend hotels and villas on Ibiza but also have a phenomenal range of apartments available – all can be booked through Ibiza Spotlight directly, ensuring your complete peace of mind from the No. 1 website for Ibiza.
Mar y Playa Apartments
“Looking for a beachfront location within easy reach of Ibiza Town? Then it just has to be the Mar y Playa Apartments in Figueretas with the beach just across the promenade and the port of Ibiza only a 15-minute stroll away. You can take a basic studio or apartment but if you really want something special you should go for a 2-bedroom penthouse apartment with fabulous views across the bay to the old town of Ibiza or over to Formentera and all this with what may well be the friendliest service anywhere in Ibiza.”
Villa of the Week
Love it.
KT, our villa expert, really ramped it up this week. She not only pulled out a great villa from our huge list but as an Ibiza Spotlight exclusive, arranged a 10% discount for anyone booking stays in July (like, one of THE key months to enjoy the island. Amazing!)
The ridiculous thing is the villa was well priced in the first place so if you like a genuine bargain, book it!
Can Vinyeta is gorgeous, recently converted, fully optioned (incl. wi-fi) and set in a very beautiful area of Ibiza.
Club News of the Week.
If he wasn't having so much fun, I might almost feel sorry for Stivi, our Club Expert and our team, who have been ensuring no event worth knowing about has been left out. Here are his top tips for this week:
"It was again a hard weekend for Spotlight's clubbing brigade [Rubbish, they love every moment – Ed'] with Amnesia opening its doors and We Love launching their 2012 summer the next night. Both fiestas were amazing though!
Also, the first of probably many magical Cocoon after parties was held on Tuesday (after Cocoon started their summer at Amnesia on Monday night), somewhere outdoors during the day...lovely!
It's not like we're getting a real break though. Ibiza Rocks had Maverick Sabre and Labrinth live on stage last night and tonight sees UK's finest promoter Cream launching their season at Amnesia. Deadmau5 on the Terrace and Paul Van Dyk in the Main Room should be amazing! Maya Jane Coles plays Kehakuma at Space as well though, so decisions, decisions!
Another dilemma is Sunday where we're tempted by We Love and their second instalment at Space (with James Zabiela, Scuba, the Hot Chip DJs, Heidi and many more!) and Cadenza at Pacha as well. Alongside head honcho Luciano plays one of my favourite live acts - Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts and Reboot is there as well.
Oh my, I think we'll just have to do both!"
Yeah, hardship guys!
Restaurant of the Week.
This week I popped along to the fabulous Ca Na Ribes in Santa Eulalia. Traditional food in a lovely setting my 'pop along' turned into a fabulous five hour evening as the ambience ensured I was in no hurry to leave. Do check it out!
Things to Do
Now back to the private party that will have friends chatting for the next decade...
This week (and indeed many times previous) I enjoyed a delivery from Ibiza Delivers, the islands direct to your door food and drink delivery service.
If you don't know about these guys n girls yet, TAKE A LOOK! It's an amazing service and the produce is simply “Wow”.
However, it might be that you need a special cake making. No worries at all as Ibiza sports one of the most talented cake designers I've ever seen, the World over. Take a glance at what this young lady can do and let your imagination go into free-fall.
So, you've got the best food and drinks being delivered to you personally, you've arranged the cake, now what? A little fancy dress, me thinks! I invited Dress Up Box Ibiza to the office and much hilarity ensued! Again, direct to your villa, this team are guaranteed to inspire much laughter and fun, suitable for any occasion.
Let's see, what's missing? Oh, a private masseuse at the villa to help you relax? Don't worry, we've got that coming – look out for next weeks column!
Talking of chilling out…
Insider Note: Benirras beach is an island favourite for a chilling out and watching the famed Ibiza sunsets, especially on a Sunday evening when the drummers all come down and keep beat as the sun sets into the sea.
However just of late there's another group of musicians, made up of drummers, guitarists and the like. They settle down, bang out a few tunes and then walk around asking for money – or indeed in some instances anything you've got spare.
Please do know this is not in the spirit of the beach and feel free and confident to decline their begging requests. The ‘real' drummers of Benirras are not party to this behaviour.
Looking Ahead.
