One of Ibiza's unsung small charities, Care4Cats, is to benefit from an auction of the works of one of Ibiza's top artists. Gary Hodges, who is based on the island, is one of the world's most respected (and selling) wildlife artists and has donated one of his prints to be auctioned with the proceeds going to C4C.
The print of Cheetah Cub, originally drawn in 1994, and signed by actresses Rula Lenska and Linda Bellingham, is up for auction on the Giving Lots site ending on 14th February. Gary says of it, “I wanted to make this a very simple composition to showcase the cheekiness and the sparkling eyes of the cub. Who'd imagine this ball of fluff could transform into such a sleek, elegant creature?”
"The latest way Cheetah Cub is helping animals is through the Giving Lots Charity auction website. The print will be auctioned in aid of Care 4 Cats Ibiza. This charity was set up in 2000 to try and solve the huge problem of feral cats in Ibiza. To date they have neutered over 9,000 cats which has massively reduced the population and now there are now far less starving and diseased cats around. In turn this has also helped the wild birds that feral cats often feed on.”
So, if you fancy owning a fabulous print and help a hard working band of volunteers and lots of poor abandoned kitties in Ibiza, then take a look at the charity auction site.
