Night one of Amnesia Closing Festival plays into mainstream sounds

11 October unites the stars of Amnesia's Monday and Tuesday nights with a few extras.

Enjoying one of its most successful seasons in years, Amnesia has announced a bumper closing weekend. Dubbed Amnesia Closing Festival, the festivities take place over two nights between 11 and 12 October.

While the final part is the traditional underground marathon, night one on Friday plays into a more accessible, mainstream sound. Especially for the occasion, the super-club unites the stars of its weekly Monday and Tuesday night programme.

On The Terrace, we get the combined forces of The Masquerade's Claptone and Sonny Fodera, Danny Howard and Sammy Virji from Amnesia Presents.

You know the script for this one: vocal, radio-friendly House, many of which you will know, with a touch of UKG and Dubstep courtesy of Mr. Virji.

Next door in the Main Room are two DJs who have risen through the ranks at the same time, as well as being great friends.

Ben Hemsley and Hannah Laing (both pictured above) made their Amnesia debut together at the start of this summer. Now they're back, albeit switching to the darker room.

In their case, you can expect faster, more thumping dance music in the Trance and Happy Hardcore mould. We've not seen this style of music in the Amnesia Main Room since the days of Cream, so this feels both refreshing and a bit of a throwback.

They're joined by Amnesia resident Les Schmitz and the winner of Antony Morato's Sound Of Unity DJ contest, who will play the opening set.

Tickets are selling fast but can still be purchased below (just make sure you save enough energy for Saturday night!)
