Much can be said for the understated quality of patience. For both himself and his fans, it was only a matter of time before man of the moment Josh Baker threw his own party on the island.
At the end of August, he took his You&Me imprint to the hills of San José to do just that at Cova Santa.
Hosting sell out shows across the UK, he’s been on a vertical trajectory over the last couple of years. During that time, he's the best part of decade honing his craft in the studio. Now, he's flourishing and revelling in the well deserved spotlight.
With a line-up consisting of specialists in the Minimal and Tech House scene, he was accompanied by fellow shining star Max Dean, as well as Voightmann, Marsolo and Alexandria.
Before heading indoors to the venue's captivating downstairs club space, the real capture-worthy moment came during Josh's sunset slot on the terrace. From 21:00 till 23:00, he had the sold-out open-air dancefloor ablaze with a carefully curated mix of underground weapons.
Though he's invading the dance charts with his own productions like Something To Me and Jam is Pumpin', these were saved until his back-to-back with Max Dean later. Instead, Josh chose to set the tone for what was to come with an array of ambient to high-energy selections.
Many of them were unidentifiable (even Shazam couldn't assist). Best believe I'll be hunting them down in the aftermath.
One track that really got the crowd going which didn't need ID'ing going was Aquamarine by Trent Voyage and Elena Moroder - a hit that's done the rounds on Ibiza this summer.
Though this party was only a one off this summer, we're confident Josh Baker will be invited back to the island next year for some more You&Me goodness.
