Night Markets

Popular at any time during the season, Ibiza´s well-known hippie and artisan markets really come into their own in the height of summer. There´s nothing like browsing them for souvenirs to take back for yourself or friends back home in the cool of an August night. Here is a rundown of our favourites.

Cala Llonga Market

Every Thursday, from 18:30 onwards

A long-time favourite, the tiny hippie market in the resort of Cala Llonga is held along the promenade on Thursday evenings, making it ideal for a twilight stroll.

With a small selection of stalls selling good quality fashion, accessories, silver jewellery and other items that make the perfect souvenir, it also frequently features live music. The many bars and restaurants that line the beach provide plenty of options for a refreshing sundowner or dinner.

What's more, the playground located directly on the soft sands of the beach and the fun fair on the main road means it´s a hit with the youngsters, too.

Evening craft market in San Rafael

Every Thursday, starting at 19:30

The artisan´s market in the village of San Rafael is a veritable cornucopia, featuring traditional and contemporary ceramics and other local products. Only authentic artisans are permitted to exhibit and sell their work here, making it the top choice for those who appreciate original handicrafts.

Throw in live entertainment each second Thursday and an exhibition of Ibizan folk dancing each fourth Thursday of the month, and you have a market that deserves to be at the top of anyone's bucket list.

The market takes place in the church square of San Rafael.

Evening artisan market in Santa Gertrudis

Every Friday, from 19:00 to midnight

Held in the picturesque village of Santa Gertrudis, in the centre of the island, this small artisan´s market is organised by the Association of Artisans and Local Producers of Ibiza along with the town hall of Santa Eulalia.

Featuring up to 20 stalls offering a nice range of handcrafted ceramics, artwork, leatherware, clothing, jewellery and other craftwork, it is held on the church square in the centre of the village. Performances of live music take place from 21:30 onwards.

With a variety of bars, pizzerias and restaurants, Santa Gertrudis is well known as one of the island´s gastronomic hotspots, making it ideal for enjoying a memorable dinner, a snack or a refreshment such as an exotic cocktail.

Las Dalias Night Market

Every Sunday, Monday & Tuesday, starting at 18:00 and ending at midnight

Consisting of over 100 stalls offering high-quality handcrafted merchandise, Las Dalias Night Market - held in the legendary setting of Las Dalias - is popular with holidaymakers and residents alike. Its chilled vibe makes it a more relaxed version of the famed Las Dalias Hippy Market, which takes place every Saturday during the day.

It is a wonderful place to stroll and shop in the balmy evening air of nighttime in Ibiza. Most evenings, there are performances of live acoustic music by solo artists or bands. Whenever you get peckish or thirsty, you can enjoy a refreshing libation, a tasty street food snack from around the world or something more substantial at one of the venue´s numerous bars and eateries.

Combine it with a visit to one of the white island´s most charming villages, San Carlos, with its lovely church, the iconic Bar Anita and many quality places to eat and you have the perfect late afternoon/evening excursion to the northeast of Ibiza.

Viu l’Artesania - Artisan Fair, Ibiza Town

Every day except Wednesdays from 13 August 2024 until the end of the month, from 19:00

Located in the romantic setting of the port of Ibiza Town, "Viu l'Artesania" or “Experience the craftsmanship" in English is a local crafts fair with a long tradition on Ibiza.

Comprising more than 20 stands, it showcases meticulously crafted products such as handmade jewellery, leather goods, fashion accessories, shoes, and traditional delicacies such as honey, and much more.

Come down to the port for a pleasant evening stroll and check it out to meet local artisans and peruse their wares for the perfect souvenir.

As ever, the best way to keep abreast of all the best on the white island is to regularly check out our events calendar.
