About Black Coffee
South African music ambassador Black Coffee has a long history with Hï Ibiza, having been unveiled as somewhat of a surprise first resident in 2017. Seven years down the line, they are inseparable, having become renowned for offering one of the island's most colourful parties.
This year will be no different as the pioneering House DJ takes his Saturday night throne, conjuring his mesmerising mix of emotional and dynamic grooves every week and with House music shaman Damian Lazarus the ideal foil next door.

When?
Every Saturday night, starting 18 May to 6 October | 23:30 to 07:00
Just over a decade ago, Saturdays on Ibiza didn't mean the busiest day of the week.
Most DJs took big fees to play weekend shows elsewhere in Europe and most holidaymakers stayed for at least a week, typically arriving and departing on Saturdays. Ergo, compared to the other six days, Saturdays were a bit of an afterthought where partying was concerned.
But that's never been the case since Hï Ibiza has been around. Saturdays are now the height of the week. Some of the island's biggest parties battle it out for the crowd. With ANTS providing the perfect feeder on Saturday daytime at Ushuaïa, Black Coffee is the unofficial carry-on.
Where?
Found in Playa d'en Bossa, high-tech Hï Ibiza was voted the world's number one club by readers of DJ Mag in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Opening in 2017, it wasted no time in making an impact. Growing year-on-year, odds are Hï Ibiza will celebrate its most successful summer again.

Black Coffee was the first ever Hï Ibiza resident to be installed in the Spring of 2017. The fact that he's still sitting on his Saturday night throne tells you everything you need to know about how well he was received.
Who?
Black Coffee has attained god-like status in his homeland. In South Africa, he is viewed widely as one of the nation's foremost music ambassadors. His residency at Hï Ibiza has played no small part in cementing that.
A man of faith, 34 years ago, Black Coffee was involved in a near-fatal car accident that rendered his left arm permanently paralysed. That he survived at all, let alone managed to carve out a music career on the global stage, is a sign of holy intervention.
In January this year, he had another near-death experience. The DJ recalls seeing his life flash before eyes, when his private jet was involved in a major incident. He had to undergo five hours of surgery to treat injuries sustained.
Despite these experiences, Black Coffee is forever optimistic. He feels blessed.
Though our host is a mere mortal man, we can understand why anybody who visits on Saturday nights might attribute supernatural qualities.
Stepping into The Theatre on Saturday nights is like discovering a new world with new sights and new cultures. It's a place where music, lighting and dancers come together in a dazzling display of synergy. You will struggle not to get swept up in the majesty of the moment.
The spectacle is like something you might expect taken from the Marvel universe of Wakanda. The backdrop emits a radiating glow and all around you is bursting with colour. The production and sound is totally cinematic in execution.
Rich with the vibrant colours of the continent, this sensory feast is brought together through the soundtrack.
Strongest week?
15 June with Henrik Schwarz (live) and Angelos and 6 July with Manoo, Pablo Fierro and Trancemicsoul both take our fancy. Both will guarantee some of the best Afro House music heard on the island this summer.

Club Room no phones policy
As the backlash against mobile phone use on the dancefloor gathers pace, Club Room host Damian Lazarus has gone public with an official ban.
Don't worry though, if you still want to capture those moments that last a lifetime, recording is still permitted in The Theatre. All we ask is you keep it limited and live in the moment as much as possible.
Next generation of resident DJs
Sticking with our focus on the Club Room, Damian Lazarus is bringing through a new wave of resident DJs. Cameron Jack, Floyd Lavine and Tony Y Not get five opportunities each to play warm-up, develop their sound and get invaluable experience under their belt.
Arrive early and check them out.
