With so much to do and see on Ibiza, it's reassuring to know you can truly chill out in style and comfort, with friends or family, thanks to the pool experience at Meliá Ibiza, Santa Eulalia.
This adults-only spot has a lot going for it.
With superb sea views, the large pool has plenty of room for guests to enjoy a reinvigorating splash. Right now the water temperature is ideal. Proof of its popularity lies in the number of guests we saw luxuriating on sun loungers and on Bali beds - soaking up that Mediterranean warmth - reading their devices and books - even in the sparkling water - and chatting with their friends and partners.
It's worth pointing out that it's exclusive to guests, ensuring a quiet, select atmosphere.
Ordering could not be easier as there is a QR code beside each lounger or bed. Like this, you can order without having to get up and - in no time - receive your request from one of the friendly, efficient servers.
You can choose your fare from either the bar on the upper level, named Boreal or the restaurant on the pool level, Cape Nao, which offers a nice selection of quality Mediterranean cuisine. The music is upbeat but never intrusive.
After an introductory refreshment, a mocktail and Aperol Spritz, we were ready to order. To eat, we opted for some tasty, nicely presented snacks such as a Caesar salad and a salmon poke bowl. Along with a yummy red berry cheesecake - served with cool vanilla sorbet - and a platter of fresh, seasonal fruit it proved just right for the easygoing poolside environment.
By mid-afternoon, we felt sufficiently sated by our frequent short dips and the appropriately light gastronomic delights to call it a day.
As ever at Meliá Ibiza, Santa Eulalia (indeed the same goes for the rest of the hotel chain's establishments on Ibiza) you can't beat chilling by the pool for some pure, unadulterated relaxation. It's a perfectly peaceful haven to fully disconnect from life back home and get the most out of your well-earned vacation on the white island.
