Chicago House legend Felix da Housecat is in the hot seat, as he opens Café Mambo for another summer of sunsets. The most famous establishment on the Sunset Strip is back open for business on Friday 19 April.
Joining Felix behind the decks is Dutchman Ferreck Dawn. The night will also feature sets from long-standing Café Mambo residents Jason Bye, Andy Baxter and Ryan McDermott - a fitting way to celebrate the restaurant's opening and start a new year of pre-parties.
Once Café Mambo opens its doors, that's a sure sign that summer has arrived.
2024 is a very special year for Café Mambo, as it celebrates 30 years of trade. That makes the occasion all the more special. Café Mambo was just a ramshackle post on San Antonio's coastline until owner Javier Anadon spotted its potential and opened it as a brand-new bar.
Not only does it boast the best view of sunset anywhere in the world, but now 30 years later, it is firmly embedded in Ibiza lore. During its tenure, the coastal walkway has undergone complete development and grown along with Mambo's stature, completely transforming the area.
Today, a visit to Mambo is a rite of passage for all island visitors - a must-do on any trip, whether first-timer or Ibiza veteran.
Although this time of year is generally quiet(-er) on the Sunset Strip, Café Mambo opening always brings the crowds, so advance booking is highly recommended. That is especially true if you desire primetime seats on a table with unrestricted views. Minimum spend will apply.
Otherwise, arriving early is the second best way to secure a first, second or third-choice space.
Needless to say, Ibiza Spotlight will be present to watch the sun sink below the horizon line and get the ball rolling for summer 2024. Come and raise a caña with us and marvel at one of nature's true wonders. Things get underway at 18:00. You can find more details here.
