Ibiza's longest-running party Flower Power presents a bountiful bouquet of talent for its 2024 revamp.
Every Saturday night at Pacha from 18 May to 5 October, Flower Power invites free-spirited party people to celebrate in the true ethos of Ibiza: freedom, peace and happiness
No party continues for forty years without a loyal fan base, but those fans should expect some changes. On hand for each case of Saturday night fever this summer is weekly resident Bora Uzer. That's the first eyebrow-raiser.
The name drops continue with DJ Harvey, Felix Da Housecat, Roger Sanchez, The Blessed Madonna, Louie Vega and David Morales. Undisputed House music royalty, in particular the last two, who will be appearing under their Kings Of House NYC project.
The sound of Detroit also takes its place. Techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson plays alongside one of the city's next-gen stars DJ Holographic on one date.
As well as founding figures, Flower Power’s summer roster also celebrates stars of the future. Current talents Jayda G, TSHA, Folamour, Narciss and live acts Ross From Friends and Oden & Fatzo are dotted through the 21 weeks.
There's also a welcomed LGBTQIA presence right the way through the season. Fat Tony, Boy George, Jaguar, Horse Meat Disco, Hannah Wants and Kiddy Smile (pictured above) all represent the community.
Following her live performance at IMS Grand Finale yesterday, former Moloko band member Rósín Murphy will also star.
The standout bit of news though? That'll be '80s icon and dear friend of the cherries, Grace Jones playing an exclusive show on 29 July. It doesn't get more decadent than that!
On opening night, Sophie Ellis-Bextor takes to the stage. Hot off the chart-topping resurgence of her Noughties number Murder on the Dancefloor (thanks to fan-crazed film Saltburn), this is sure to be the first of many special performances at Flower Power in 2024.
What's looking increasing likely with this latest piece of news, is that the musical direction of Flower isn't just getting tweaked. It's getting an overhaul. We're very curious to see how this one blooms. Fortunately, with only three weeks to go until launch off, we don't have long to wait.
