Beatport Awards resurrected for International Music Summit

The ceremony takes place at House of WOW during this year's business conference.

For the first time since 2011, The Beatport Awards will honour the best electronic music producers and labels - and it's coming to Ibiza. The resurrected bash takes place on Wednesday 24 April at House of WOW, as part of International Music Summit (IMS) week.

BBC Introducing's Jess Iszatt will be our cordial host for the evening, with doors opening at 20:00. Chase & Status, Nia Archives, Barry Can't Swim, Skrillex, Syreeta and Octave One are amongst the nominees in the mix for recognition.

Categories on the night include:

  • Best Selling Track of the Year
  • Best Selling Artist of the Year
  • Best Selling Label of the Year
  • Best Selling Remix of the Year
  • Hype Label of the Year
  • Social Impact Award
  • Producer of the Year
  • Best Live Performer
  • One To Watch

Through the awards, Beatport aims to bring recognition to the electronic music industry.

Winners will be determined via a combination of sales data and panel judging. The judges consist of Dan Chalmers (head of music, YouTube), Katie Bain (director, Billboard Dance), music journalist Marcus Barnes, Sofia Ilyas and Raphael Pujol (both Beatport).

There's also a chance for your voice to be heard, with voting now open for the People's Choice award.

Adding further glitz and glamour to the proceedings, IMS co-founder Pete Tong (MBE) will also present the coveted IMS Legends award as part of the evening's programme. Past recipients include Pepe Rosello, Javier Anadon, Nile Rodgers and Sven Väth. Who's deserving in 2024?

Attendees should expect incredible food and drinks and a buzzing atmosphere, with industry leaders from across dance music culture united in celebrating the best of our scene.

This is just the first in what's sure to be a broad programme of satellite events linked to the conference from Wednesday through to Friday, ending with the IMS Grand Finale in Dalt Vila on 26 April and proving the catalyst for opening parties in the immediate aftermath.
