IMS mixes things up for Dalt Vila's Grand Finale

Lots of fresh faces and a spattering of old faces in the Old Town on 26 April.

One of the spectacles of summer, International Music Summit (IMS) is back for its Dalt Vila Grand Finale in 2024. The party atop the 16th Century fortress is back for its yearly one-off on Friday 26 April to close the conference and herald the start of a new season.

Now the line-up is out and we know who'll be playing under the stars in this magnificent setting.

IMS hosts Pete Tong and Jaguar line-up, as expected. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Scene matriarch and newly-published autobiographer DJ Paulette has made space between book signings to get back to her DJ booth natural habitat. A more worthy booking, you're unlikely to find. For those still yet in-the-know, discover why this Mancunian legend has such longevity.

Streaming sensation Mochakk and highly-rated Kilimanjaro are rewarded for their respective career advancements, to be added to the fray. Rip-roaring sets incoming from both.

Neon-haired Progressive House rebel Miss Monique also builds on an impressive twelve months with one of her biggest bookings to date. Expect a hair-raising, powerful set from her.

Having made such an impact with SHÈN last summer at Club Chinois, as well as headlining a free party in the port, Franky Wah ascends to the summit. Thoroughly deserved. One his 2023 guests, previous studio collaborators and occasional back-to-back partner Sasha is also in.

Operating in the same sonic space, Artche is back, having previously played at the 2022 edition.

There's a slight experimental feel about this year's programming, with names such as Alex Wann, Kalismã and Sarz being unknown quantities. Their inclusion fuels the need to get down early and find out what they're all about.

With a run time of seven hours from 17:00 to midnight, it seems inevitable most of these names will be paired as back-to-backs. This has become IMS Grand Finale's calling card. Who do you want to see buddied up?

It's not only DJs. There will also be a live PA from totally Balearic disco diva Róisín Murphy.

All in all, it's a varied line-up that mixes things up and provides a platform for a combination of fresh faces and worthy veterans.
