Superstylers Groove Armada take over Club Chinois

What’s going down in Ibiza Marina this week at Club Chinois.

One of Ibiza's most understated dancefloors, Club Chinois is no stranger to big-hitter headliners amongst its non-stop agenda.

When it comes to dance music duos, they don't come any bigger than Groove Armada. Their status makes them the perfect pair to kick-start Club Chinois' series of late-season parties on Sunday 8 October with a one-off special appearance DJ set.

Groove Armada are truly one of the greats. Those of you old to remember the late ‘90s will recall Groove Armada, catapulting to the top with debut album Northern Star, which featured downbeat crossover hit At The River.

Formed of Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, the outfit walked the faultline of a sound that is classic as it is innovative. Their ingenious use of instrumental and electronic components makes a 25-year discography that includes rhythm-buster Superstylin', Song 4 Mutya and I See You Baby.

It's no surprise that the sound of Groove Armada came to wash up on Ibizan shores. Having played countless residencies, including a legendary stint on the Space Ibiza Terrace for We Love, these days we're treated to select summer appearances which are not to be missed.

Onto another close-knit duo. Next-gen groovers the Dunmore Brothers are firmed to make their Club Chinois debut this Sunday. Sons of Defected founder Simon, Louie and Lucas are blazing their own brand of infectious House music as the dynasty continues.

Joining them, Sarah Main makes a fine addition to the line-up. Best known for holding down a 12-year stint as resident at Pacha, Sarah made a welcome return to DJing in the last year following a short hiatus to pursue other artistic pursuits.

Talking of celebrated DJs, Chicago House legend Derrick Carter stops by to boost The Ritual with Anané & Louie Vega tonight. Afro House leader Kitty Amor and Dutch duo Dam Swindle also play.

Tomorrow is closing night for underground fix NiiWA, as Ritual Collective calls on Marcus Worgull and Robag Wruhme for the occasion. Friday sees the finale of Pablo Fierro's We're Here. Deer Jade, Manoo and Pablo's brother Juan Fierro help send-off the summer.

Dan Ghenacia of DJ collective Apollonia, has been a monthly mainstay for TRIP this season. He's back on Saturday with Tuccillo for El Silencio's final takeover.
