A contender for everyone’s favourite month on Ibiza, October is not only quieter and cooler but jam-packed with fun activities.
The range of events this month encompasses personal growth, chess, music, fairs, gastronomy, patron saint festivities, walks, trail running, and swims. For fans of motorised travel, there’s a vintage scooter meet-up as well as a rider day - both perfect for exploring the island in the company of fellow motorcycle enthusiasts.
For clubbers, it’s also the last chance to party before Ibiza’s world-famous nightclubs close down for the season. See the listings below and plan now for that epic final fling!

Medieval Mariners' Market in San Antonio
28 September - 1 October
Pirates and mermaids return to San Antonio to regale you with another edition of the popular Medieval Mariners' Market. This atmospheric event in the town centre features all manner of stalls offering quality handcrafted goods, exotic food, live performances and much more. Come down with all the family to experience this magical market.
Stock fair & gastronomic fair Tapaví
21 October
From 09:30 onwards, in the centre of Santa Eulalia, more than 30 businesses sell off last year's stock at very good prices. In this stock fair you can find everything from toys to flowers, going through all kinds of fashion and accessories, footwear, household items and a long etcetera.
The event is complemented by the gastronomic fair Tapaví, in which many bars of Santa Eulalia participate, offering special discounts on tapas and drinks. You will be able to taste a variety of local specialities as well as dishes from around the world.
There will also be concerts, inflatable castles and plenty of activities for children.
'Fira des Calamar' - Squid fair in San Carlos
28 October
Part of the patron saint festivities of the picturesque village of San Carlos, in the northeast of the island, Fira des Calamar or Squid Fair is your chance to indulge in a wide variety of squid-based gastronomy. The event also includes an artisan market, a kids' area, and concerts.

Sonorama Ribera goes to Ibiza
5 - 7 October
Back for a third time, the Sonorama Festival combines exclusive concerts by more than 20 well-known Spanish artists and bands with talks, art exhibitions, fun activities and wine tastings. The music as well as the other activities will take place at Venice Beach, at Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel, in the San Antonio Bay area, and in the nearby Auditorium Caló de S'Oli.
Jazz Point Festival
12 - 15 October
Jazz Point Ibiza 2023 - International Jazz Festival returns once again, highlighting some of the biggest names on the international Jazz scene. With an outstanding line-up, choice venues, free workshops and much more, this is one that Jazz fans and newbies won't want to miss.
Now in its 4th edition, Jazz Point Ibiza 2023 kicks off with an Opening Party Jam Session hosted by WOM Radio Café in Santa Eulalia. The Opening Festivities then continue at The Standard Hotel, Ibiza on Vara de Rey in Ibiza Town. The following night will feature an elegant musical dinner hosted at the beautiful Safragell Agrotourism Hotel near San Lorenzo.
On Saturday night, the action moves to Teatro Ibiza before continuing on Sunday with a free concert by the Big Band Ciutat d’Eivissa followed by the final show of the Festival at the cultural centre, Can Ventosa, in Ibiza Town.
As ever, in addition to these amazing shows, there will be “Master Classes” for local musicians at Can Ventosa on Saturday from 12:00.
Can Rock Festival @Es Birra
13 - 14 October
Can Rock Festival returns to the popular music bar Es Birra, located in the resort of Es Caná, for a weekend of Alternative Rock, Punk-Rock, Black and Thrash Metal, Hardcore and more, featuring local and national bands.
Ibiza Light Festival - POSTPONED TO NOVEMBER!
10 - 11 November
Now in its eighth year, Ibiza Light Festival is home to a (literally) dazzling array of cutting-edge video installations, effervescent special effects, performances, projections and shows. Illuminating the old quarter of Ibiza Town, Dalt Vila, this highly popular event is a must-see for holidaymakers and residents alike.

October sees several localities host their patron saint festivities this month.
Cala de Bou & Port Des Torrent
1 -22 October
The San Antonio Bay community celebrates its patron saint with food, drink, and a range of activities such as dance workshops, music festivals, and art exhibitions, along with kids' activities including yoga for children, games and a magic show.
San Rafael, Ibiza
24 October
Long known as the pottery centre of the island, the village of San Rafael celebrates its patron saint festivities this month. Activities range from wine sampling, traditional folk dancing, painting contests and concerts to walks and night-time barbecues. The event even has its own beer festival, the OctubreFest.
The full programme has yet to be confirmed, so pencil it in for now.

Posidonia Swimming Race
1 October
Swim to save Ibiza’s iconic underwater Posidonia grass in this annual competition, the Posidonia Swimming Race, held on the west coast of the island. Starting out from the beach of Cala d'Hort, the event features two races, a 10km all the way around the islets of Es Vedrà and Es Vedranell, and a shorter 5 km one to Es Vedranell and back.
Places are limited, so make sure you book in time if you wish to participate.

Car Rally, Pujada a sa Cala
13, 14 and 15 October
From 13 to 15 October, the popular 38th Pujada a sa Calla rally race invites participants to tackle twisting routes while enjoying awe-inspiring panoramic vistas on the road to Cala San Vicente. It's an exhilarating spectacle that captivates anyone with a love for automobiles and racing. Don't miss the action!
Around the island adventure with Walking Ibiza
13 - 22 October
Resident hiking fanatics, Walking Ibiza, are the masterminds behind the Around the Island adventure, an amazing, possibly life-changing, opportunity to discover the island on foot. The 12-day, 260-km walk takes in Ibiza's entire coastline. En route, you'll have the chance to meet others, admire the scenery, and learn about many aspects of the island's fauna, flora and history in the knowledgeable company of Walking Ibiza's experienced expert guides.
Ibiza Chess Festival
13 - 15 October
The Ibiza Chess Festival is an international tournament to be held in San Antonio in the unique surroundings of the town's original lighthouse, Faro de Ses Coves Blanques. Aimed at players with an elo of less than 2400 points, with a choice of Classic, Rapid or Blitz matches, it is an unmissable event for chess lovers.

One for aficionados of the classic Italian scooter, Sargantanas Vespa Meeting is a two-day journey around Ibiza run by Ibiza Vespúnics, a local group who love to share their passion for vintage Vespas with all comers.
Hippy market Punta Arabí 50th anniversary closing party
25 October
The popular and colourful hippy market Punta Arabí closes off the season with a big 50th anniversay closing party. In addition to all the stands selling off their goods at great prices, there is a line up of DJ sets & live shows. Together with the food and drinks stands you will be entertained all day.
Ibiza Trail Marathon
28 October
Enjoy the best of the island’s scenery while taking part in the Ibiza Trail Marathon. Departing from San Antonio, the challenge has three distances to suit all levels: Light (10 km), Medium (25 km) and Marathon (46 km).
Walk around Formentera
26, 27, 28, 29 October
Explore Ibiza’s picturesque sister island with the fully guided Around The Island Adventure, a four-day route along Formentera’s gorgeous 86-km coastline. Taking in clifftops, secluded beaches, forests, and the island’s towns, there’s no better way to get fit, meet others, and appreciate Formentera’s stunning natural landscapes.

29 October
A non-competitive motorcycling event, Ibiza Rider Day will be held for the third time this year. It starts and finishes at the Palacio de Congresos de Ibiza, located in the resort of Santa Eulalia del Río. With a total length of 185 km and no fixed itinerary, it’s ideal for riders who love discovering the island on two wheels in the company of fellow enthusiasts.

Ibiza Wellness Weekend 2023
13 - 15 October
The IV Edition of Ibiza Wellness Weekend will once again bring together wellness sector leaders and devotees for a two-day, island-wide bonanza of health and wellness. An absolute must for anyone interested in fitness, personal development and mental health. Funds will also be raised for the Elena Torres Association for Cancer Research.
Ibiza Tantra Festival
23 - 29 October
Now in its eighth edition, the Ibiza Tantra Festival is back. Featuring some of the world’s leading teachers of tantra, this vibrant, enlightening event includes workshops, blissful meditations, yoga, and dance sessions. Join in for a unique opportunity to connect with yourself and others, nourish the soul and deepen your understanding of tantra's ancient wisdom.
Closing parties
October means one thing in clubland - closing party season is in full swing! This is the last hoorah, for the super-clubs at least.
Eden's Closing Party is set for 5 October, as it invites back Hard Dance outfit Outset, with a line-up that includes 999999999, Charlie Sparks and a special guest TBA.
Playa d'en Bossa neighbours Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza combine for a day-to-night special called The Vortex on 7 October. Bicep, Peggy Gou, ANOTR and many weekly residents are involved there.
A week later, Amnesia calls time on 14 October with a weighty Closing Party of House and Techno talent. The night before, it's Club Chinois' turn with Rewind & Replay, although the nightspot continues at weekends all the way to the end of October with its late-season programme.
The same weekend, Pacha ends its 50th anniversary year with a trio of parties Friday to Sunday. Claptone's The Masquerade is on Saturday before a final Solomun +1 with Dixon on Sunday - officially the last party of summer 2023.
Ahead of either of those, the Music On marathon stops at Destino by day before Marco Carola and co. roll down the hill to Pacha on Friday.
Halloween
31 October
Halloween is widely celebrated throughout Ibiza with special parties and events for children and adults. A number of nightclubs (Pikes, Club Chinois, Akasha), bars and restaurants (Nagai, Bam Bu Ku, Rio Ibiza), and other venues (theHUB or Town Halls) put on themed Halloween nights featuring DJs, live music and elaborate decorations.
So, get to work on your ghostly garb now; this is a once-a-year license to spook!
