House playlist takeover | Tough Love for Soul Town at O Beach

We hand control of the aux lead to the 8 October headliner.

Now only little over three weeks remain of Ibiza-based lunacy. Thankfully, O Beach's day-to-day calendar remains jam-packed. While its in-house parties continue, one-off exclusives fill the gaps elsewhere. Part of the programme, Soul Town returns on Sunday 8 October.

This will be the outfit's third consecutive year at the day-club with another bona fide extravaganza in store. Disco, Funk and House vibes will be oozing from the seams as headliner Tough Love takes centre stage.

Widely known for debut single So Freakin' Tight and dancefloor destroying Genuine remix, Pony (Jump On It), Tough Love's distinct productions of catchy vocals over crisp drum layers create an undeniable danceability.

Going through somewhat of a transition, the former duo of Alex Wintton-Caine and Stefan O'Brien has recently morphed into a solo project from Stefan alone.

To give you an idea of what you can expect from Soul Town next month, Tough Love has taken over our House playlist and given us his top tracks.

Tough Love's House music playlist takeover

Lovebirds feat Stee Downs | Want You In My Soul | Winding Roads Records

"I think this is up there as one of my all time favourite records. The production, the writing and the vocals are just perfect."

Soul II Soul | Pleasure Dome (Booker T Dub) | Island Records

"Great memories vibing to this one back in the day, remixed by a legend who probably isn't spoken about enough. Booker T tracks have been a staple part of my collection since getting my very first set of belt drive turntables."

M-Gee feat Mica Paris | Bodyswerve | Swing City Records

"What an anthem. This show at O Beach is going to be an 'exclusive classics set'. This is one of my go-tos, but is surely an absolute must on anyones USB or playlist."

Mark Knight & Funkagenda | Man With The Red Face | Toolroom Records

"This has been the soundtrack to many Ibiza sunsets, especially when playing for the Float Your Boat team in Ibiza. It holds so many amazing memories and I'm looking forward to many more ahead."

Max Dean | KILLERZ | Box Red

"Bringing things up to date, this record just feels like 2011/12 to me. The year Tough Love was born and one of my favourite musical eras apart from the '90s."

Nate James, MJ Ultra & Tough Love | Lost Ones | Get Twisted Records

"Obviously have to plug my latest release, Lost Ones, teaming up with two-time MOBO winner Nate James and US singer-songwriter and actor MJ Ultra on my own label Get Twisted Records. It was made during those turbulent pandemic times with the hope to inspire anyone who's been feeling lost, that their time will come if you just keep on dreaming and believing."

We don't have long to wait now, and it isn't only Tough Love that we've got to look forward to.

Another of the performing acts, Lewis Wright, is also more accustomed playing as a pair as one half of No Artificial Colours. With more special guests, plus live sax, violin and percussionists, attendees to Soul Town are in for the real deal.
