Playing in David Guetta's shadow means having to take a backseat to one of the dance music's all-time greats most of the time. Make no mistake, however, that Meduza and James Hype have been winning rave reviews looking after the Club Room on Friday nights at Hï Ibiza.
Now with Guetta sidelined through illness, Meduza and James Hype are stepping up to fill the void. They switch to The Theatre tonight, Friday 22 September.
Although David Guetta is conspicuous by his absence, he leaves Future Rave in very capable hands.
Meduza had already played in The Theatre twice this summer before getting the call to deputise last weekend. With regular support act Arielle Free going nowhere, the main room has a paradoxically different yet familiar feel to it.
Taking their place in the Club Room, Korolova and Tita Lau ensure room two won't be lacking in energy either.
Sometimes opportunities present themselves in less than ideal circumstances. Despite the situation surrounding the line-up changes, best to believe Meduza and James Hype will rise to the occasion.
For attendees, too, this could be a chance to discover something not previously not on your radar.
